Afrika Porter CEO of Afrika Enterprises

 

Afrika is a Chicago native, was born in September 1973, and has and worked in media and Public Relations in North Carolina, Mississippi, New York City and Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

 

Affectionately known as Sister Afrika, Afrika Porter is the youngest of six children born to Rev. Dr. Kwame John R. Porter and June Porter. Both very educated, and Civically involved for well over 60 years, her father, Dr. Porter is a retired Pastor, Educator and has authored over six books. Her mom, June Porter is still educating adults at Literacy Chicago, teaching adults how to read and loving it. They are both very socially active as well, and have been consistent through the years, having served in various capacities, SCLC Chapter President for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., President of the Ida B. Wells Civic Organization, and multiple programs both locally and internationally to name a few.

 

Writing Publications – Editor of The Truth Magazine, Truth b Told online news service, The Final Call Newspaper, The Source Magazine of HIP HOP and Politics, The Wake Up News and The Chicago Defender.

Afrika has studied at Bennett College For Women in Greensboro North Carolina, (Journalism) Rust College in Holly Springs Mississippi, (Education) Bard College in New York City (Humanities) and the University of Chicago. (Film)

 

Afrika desires to pursue more Education at the Doctoral level, in Anthropology, to study abroad, travel and research People and Ethnicities, Race and Race Relations, humanity and happiness for all in our Global World.

 

Afrika is the CEO of Afrika Enterprises, Consulting & Public Relations where her staff represents clients from the Entertainment Industry, Politics, Authors, Athletes, Organizations, Programs, Events and new and existing businesses.

 

Afrika Speaks at Rally’s, Churches, Mosque, and all kinds of Events around violence, Women’s issues, Politics, Psychology, Home Schooling, Social Justice, Parenting, Education and Community development weekly. She is well sought after and is on many Boards and committees. She is a self-directed personality and believes she’s always a student, therefore leaving space to learn and continue to grow.

 

She loves and appreciates her mom, June Porter, who she refers to as the BEST example of what is RIGHT. Oprah Winfrey who she’s met several times and co produced several shows for OWN and Iyanla’s FIX MY LIFE show on OWN.
